Dimapur, March 20 (MExN): Joint Action Committee on Women Reservation (JACWR) in a representation to the president of Ao Senden has made an appeal for consideration and to revoke the suspension of the Watsu Mungdang. The representation appended by Abeiü Meru Convenor JACWR also president NMA stated that the continuing suspension of the Watsu Mungdang by the Ao Senden is a matter of serious concern for Naga women from the other apex women organisations including the NMA. The Ao tribe is the most advanced tribe among the Nagas in terms of Christianity and education in the State. “Therefore, we believe that the Ao Senden will show Christian magnanimity, maturity and democratic spirit towards the Watsu Mungdang issue,” the representation stated. Naga women leaders from different organizations namely the Naga Mothers’ Association and its tribe women units, Eastern Naga Women Organisation, Naga Women Hoho Dimapur and the Tenyimi Women Organisation have resolved at its consultative meeting held on March 16 to request once again the Ao Senden to revoke the suspension of the Watsu Mungdang at the earliest in the interest of justice, democracy and peace.
