Through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, Apraava Energy has funded Yhoshü Resource Centre (YRC) project at Kigwema village under Kohima district.
This project, implemented by Eleutheros Christian Society (ECS) through the relentless efforts of Yhoshü clan, was formally inaugurated on April 14 by Samir Ashta, Director, Finance & CFO, Apraava Energy, touted as India’s leading integrated energy solutions provider.
Addressing the gathering, Ashta lauded the community participation and ECS for making this project a reality. He called upon the community to protect the environment and intensify tree plantation in the project site.
Ashta also assured to acquaint the community in his next visit on the concept of finance and financial management for the centre.
Dr Priyesh Modi, CSR Head, assured that more facilities will be added to this Centre in the coming days. He wanted to see that the students’ enrolment take place quickly and utilize hostels and skilling activities. Dr Modi said that Apraava will extend solar energy to this centre. “We are also planning to launch Apraava Scholarship for deserving and meritorious students,” he said.
Deepa Sabastian, CHRO said that the vision of Apraava is to enable the country transformation towards sustainable future and create a meaningful impact to the community. “This Centre is a people dreams, creating future leaders of the state, of the region and the country as well,” she said.
She said that Apraava will also empower women and girl students. She hoped that the Centre will become a ground for dreams to take shape, building careers and push forward confidence, capability and ambition of the students.
ECS secretary Rev Chingmak Chang thanked the Apraava team from Delhi for their commitment and genuine concern for the region. Apart from career guidance and hostel facilities, he said that the larger vision of the Centre is to see that it gradually expand into livelihood, tourism, natural resource management etc. Rev Chang hoped that the partnership will continue to grow.
Uplifting grassroots communities
YRC Management Convenor Sobu Yhoshü said that the remarkable infrastructural developments at YRC reflect a visionary commitment to generating lasting value that uplifts grassroots communities.
He said that YRC features a futsal court, a community hall, a boys' dormitory, a well-equipped kitchen and a dining hall. YRC anticipate adding a serene park linked to flourishing gardens, orchards, farming plots, poultry farming and a fully functional hostel in the near future.
He hoped that the Centre will empower the region on an even grander scale, fostering self-reliance and contributing to nation-building in the years ahead. Thanking Apraava and ECS for engaging with the community, he said, “We eagerly anticipate your continued support and guidance to elevate YRC into a beacon of resources and sustainable excellence for humanity.”
Jacob Khomeze Mera, Chairman Kigwema Village Council thanked Apraava and ECS for bringing the transformative initiative and investing meaningfully in people’s future. He maintained that YRC project arrived at a pivotal moment to address the society's growing needs for education, skills, and opportunity. Mera said that this centre holds immense potential to become a replicable model, delivering innovative programs such as campus trainings and coaching for both men and women, internships, educational excellence, advanced farming techniques with seed banks, incubation hubs for sports and entrepreneurship, and sustainable livelihood programs. He said that the Centre will also act as powerful catalysts to empower the youth, foster self-reliance and contribute to the vision of a Viksit Bharat.
The inaugural programme was led by Visato Yhoshü while Rev Mekhale Yhoshü invoked God’s blessings. Yhoshü Clan chairman Wheto Yhoshü delivered welcome address. Vikheto Yhoshü & friends and Seyiekole Bio presented folk songs. Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr Kedovikho Yhoshü, Assistant Professor, Department of Geography, Nagaland University.
