Meluri, May 22 (MExN): 46 Assam Rifles provided assistance to four passengers who met with an accident, at Akhegwo - Meluri Road.
A press release from the PRO informed that on May 16 at 1230 hours, around 5 kms from Akhegwo towards Meluri Civil a Tata Sumo bearing Registration Number NL-01H-1906 travelling from Akhegwo to Meluri lost control and went off the road approximately 80 feet down. On receiving the information from a civilian, QRT comprising of one JCO and 10 OR rushed to the accident site from Akhegwo COB. The QRT rescued all four passengers and brought them to COB Akhegwo for first aid. After first aid, the victims were taken to Civil Hospital Meluri for further treatment.
The prompt action of AR saved precious lives which could have been lost without immediate medical attention. The families of injured and the locals thanked 46 AR for the help rendered and quick response.
