Are you willing to commit and participate towards a Clean Election Campaign in Nagaland?

Some of those who voted  YES had this to say:
•    Its high time we public realise the importance of our decision n stand for the truth. Lets not mess up our already corrupted society. Together we can do something for the betterment of our people. Lets not b narrow minded bt work for the overall upliftment.
•    Yes, Money power is influencing Nagalands election
•    Doctors with dirty hands on operation table had killed too many patients in the past and it took 50 years to realize the defect. Similarly, our dirty hands in election for the past 50 years has inflicted untold casualty to ourselves. Clean election is the only hope of a healthy society. I am all out for it and aggressively campaigning for it at all available platforms. 10 Working Guidelines for CLEAN ELECTION

•    Yes. It's a must, with commitment and participation of everyone in such a move but in its truest sense during implementation/action.
•    Yes... but how many of us will only be doing lip service?? how many will actually get a chance to vote in your own name?? Biometric machines maybe, should be set up in the booths before we go and vote. If it is connected to a program which recognises a thumbprint or an iris that has already voted anywhere in the system for that day, we could have both the votes disqualified and the result should then prove interesting. Forget voters Id cards, if only this can happen.
•    A BIG YES!!! but how many candidates will follow this? I dont think it will be easy.. I always say this, Nagaland or be it India has turned into Pig sty.. in order to win one need to get dirty and wrestle with the pig to get along with it.
•    Yes, it may be a historic step
•    It's a matter of attitude and will power of the people. Each tribe and each constituency can decide election guidelines and action plan. Are we worse than the Mizos? Come on, give a try and see the result.
•    Yes........We all know how corrupted election process is in Nagaland. It will come clean only when candidates stop throwing money.
•    The recent happenings in Mizoram should be a boost and an eye opener for all, where the Church made its position clear for a clean election. I am not sure to what extent the Naga Churches can take such a moral position. This will depend on how the people look at the Church. I am all out for a Clean Election campaign, and if it is to be led by the Church, it is also important that the Church comes out clean before the people and also seek forgiveness for all its shortcomings. In this way, the Church will be in a better position to earn the trust and support of the people. If not, I am sorry to say, majority of the people will always be skeptical about the church.
•    Yes. I want to vote for the best candidate. I dont want to see money power, guns or muscles. Lets make sure the govt. is accountable to the citizens.
•    Yes, I do…! But lets talk about our candidates from both ruling and opposition branch and other party intending candidates….Are they willing to contest as free and fair election under what NBCC had resolutions? What if they are trying to whistle huge Delhi notes in the air? Think, most of us especially rural habitants may become so allergic to cast his/her votes without smelling it…! No fighter ever wants to lose his battle in the hands of his greatest enemy..!
•    Rome was not build in a day ...nothing wrong in trying.
•    A big YES from me. If we want a free, fair and clean election, the first thing we have to do is to clean ourself and wash our hands from those money and muscle powers and dirty game of politics during elections. I want a clean election so am definitely going to wash my hands and looking forward with positive mindset though i know that it won't have much impact on outcome. But outcome doesn't matter for i stand for the right cause and there lies my satisfaction. May God bless our beautiful land.
•    Am sure one fine day The Miracle Hand of Jehovah" will change the heart & mind's of all the Naga's.
•    Yes, the campaign will never transform the political system of election and governance in the state however trying this idea itself is a big achievement tat has open many eyes which will bring positive change gradually.
•    Yes, very much. I have seen that almost all the educated young people are against the sale of vote, they just examine the problem or care not about it. The problem lies with many other people who knows only money, not policies. Youths! The world is in your hands, if only you are reformers!

Some of those who  voted NO  had this to say:
•    No, better earn some pocket money before the voting day...our elected members won't have the time for us after elections.
•    Elections without GUNS will be like rice without curry....NBCC cannot stop a bullet with their faith and voices for fair n clean votings.
•    None Of The Business Of NBCC Poking Their Noses Into Politics. They Must Draw A Line As To What Limit They Can Go.
•    No, Outside and inside elements
•    Clean elections in nagaland?? No way.. it is for the purpose of feeding the undergrounds so that they make sure their particular feeder  wins by any means.
•    First of all, arrest the NBCCs for the campaigns..They know nothing about elections...How can elections in Nagaland be clean, fair true and UNDERGROUNDS LESS? ..Dont they realise that they are just to oversee the churches in Nagaland and not to poke their noses into such business.
•    I don’t believe it. Going from past experience I can see how the people of our society, starting from the Church have been involved in the election process. There is nothing wrong to be involved in election, but the manners in which they have involved themselves have raised eyebrows. Also this is the only time that the politicians are giving away the public money they have looted during their tenure away for free. So whats wrong in taking the money which belongs to the public in the first place.
•    No... Because I have already committed when I became a Christian many years back. Nbcc and churches are getting their basics wrong. I thought this things are shared on the pulpit everytime.it only shows the spiritual decline of the Christians in the state and that corruption is being sideline or afraid to be addressed by the church directly.
•    in our state, money power, muscle power, rum, whiskey, beer, brandy, so and so powers rule the election....
•    Amid all the hype, I think this campaign will surely fall on dead ears. This exercise, even with all its good intention, is only going to give us another set of visionless and power hungry legislatures. Nepotism, cronyism, favoritism and tribalism will not end with electoral politics, as long as the LEACH infested system exists. Clean Election Campaign?!! It's is nothing more than an exercise in Naivety!!
•    No, because I am a Naga, not an Indian.
•    Nah. Its just a lame attempt by the NBCC and the govt to give them some credibility and feel good factor from the ignorant appreciating masses. I'm surprised why the politicians, the intending candidates and party workers have not been targeted first for this campaign. NBCC should remember that nagas are Christian and that this commitment comes as a result of ourselves practising the Christian principle and not by a poster campaign and seminar. Corruption, unclean election, etc are as a result of our distorted practice of our Christian faith. NBCC should focus first on setting our basic Christian faith, value and commitment. The other society evils will drastically reduce when we become a committed Christians and practicing Christian.
•    NAGAS will not give up money....rather they will try to rinse every pennies from the candidate. How will elections be CLEAN if this is foremost purpose.
•    Elections are times that bring about one's inner being...If u r timid, there is no hope of winning. Infact its battle of wits & MONEY....There cannot be CLEAN ELECTIONS in Nagaland.

Some of those who voted OTHERS had this to say:
•    With greatest respect, I would like to ask, what makes you think that Nagaland can conduct clean election? Clean election is a national debate but no takers from political parties/ politicians. Citizens are powerless without change in election law (like state funding of election) or all political parties/ politicians suddenly changed into moral authority/ moral being (a very much unlikely scenario). I think the buck primarily stops with politicians to clean up the election system.
•    In order to have a Clean election we must stop election.
•    Oh! Try it No harm. Naga Patriots have rejected the Indian election.
•    The planning and preparation for the Clean Election Campaign should have started years ago. Just starting the campaign within a year of the elections will not make any difference. The use of money and muscle power is deep rooted and to address these factors it needs not months by years of intensive education and awareness. I wish the campaign would have started months ago, and while time is short now, hopefully those initiating the campaign will go all out.
•    It's sad to see many youths with a negative/defeated attitude about everything in Nagaland today. This is a dangerous sign and we need to overcome it. I reiterate "attitude matters". Often you are your greatest enemy. If you think you can not do it, you can not. And vice versa. Harvard University has carried out an extensive research on the secret of success with successful people all over the world. The finding was 75% of success has to do with "POSITIVE ATTITUDE". Let us be optimistic. We can do it. Philippians 4:13.
•    When the top level, ie, the central govt. in Delhil and the ground level ie the common people are so corrupt, there is least expectation of clean election campaign in Nagaland
•    The system of society need to be reform and change, then only the proper order of discipline and justice can occur in our society..
•    For our society to reform and change, you and I need to change
