ARSA Golden Jubilee celebration focuses on holistic development and innovation

The Aong Reju Sporting Association (ARSA) celebrated its 50th Golden Jubilee at ARSA Hall, Mopungchuket village, Mokokchung, on January 9 under the theme “Putusen den jangyumedem” (Keeping pace with the new generation).

Theme speaker Nungsang Aier, Dimapur, in his address stressed the importance of unity, cultural roots and holistic development. He urged the youth to remain culturally and traditionally grounded while embracing global perspectives and advancements. Aier underscored that unity is not merely a matter of documentation, but something practised and ingrained in the mind, and encouraged the youth to be firmly rooted in cultural values.

Short exhortations were delivered by Imkong Aier, Dimapur, and Suzulemla, Kohima. Imkong Aier stressed the importance of skill development and practical education, urging the youth to focus on contributing to society and becoming technically sound.

Suzulemla, meanwhile, expressed gratitude for an educational award initiated by the association and lauded ARSA’s holistic growth in education, art and sports. She encouraged the gathering to embrace truth, honesty and spiritual awakening in her exhortation.

The speakers at the event emphasised the need for innovation and entrepreneurship in today’s world, urging the youth to focus on developing skills and creating products that can be marketed and sold. They also highlighted the importance of developing Mopungchuket-branded products and working on innovative marketing and production strategies.

Earlier, ARSA President Imlikumzuk welcomed the jubilee attendees, while Rimachang Aier, Convenor, Planning Committee, proposed the vote of thanks. Other highlights of the celebration included the jubilee opening act, folk songs, greetings and words of gratitude.
