
Kohima, September 1 (MExN): In view of the reported cases of detection of African Swine Fever (ASF) at P. Khel, Kohima village, Kohima District, the Deputy Commissioner of Kohima has notified infected and surveillance zones for control and containment of the ASF disease.
According to the order dated September 1, the infected zone includes P. Khel, Kohima village under Kohima with a 1 km radius of the infected premises. The surveillance zone covers a 10 km radius from the infected premises, which is a 9 km radius outside the infected zone.
The order stated, “in view of the reported cases of detection of African Swine Fever (ASF) at P. Khel, Kohima village, Kohima District the under mentioned areas are hereby notified as Infected Zones and Surveillance Zones for control and containment of the ASF disease.”
The following restrictions are to be strictly adhered to in the aforementioned locations until further orders: Ban on slaughter of pigs; ban on import and export of pigs and piglets; and ban on transportation of pigs and pork.
