ASF detected in Kohima district

KOHIMA, JUNE 21 (MExN): A case of African Swine Fever (ASF) has been detected from R&K Piggery Farm Nyiepfü, below IG Stadium, in Kohima district.  Informing this, the Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Kumar Ramnikant has notified the Infected Zones and Surveillance Zones for control and containment of the ASF. Infected Zone extends to a 1 km radius of infected premises while Surveillance Zone covers an additional 9 KM outside the Infected Zone making a total of 10 Km radius from the source of infection. In this regard, the following restrictions are to be strictly adhered in the aforementioned locations until further orders- ban on slaughter of pigs, ban on import and export of pigs and piglets, ban on transportation of pigs and pork, the notification stated.
