Dimapur, June 17 (MExN): Can Youth under its project Co-IRA (Information, Response, Action) distributed COVID-19 equipments to ASHA and Anganwadi workers and youth volunteers at Can Youth office, Dimapur on June 17.
The equipments were supported by Idea the Ant and Community Youth Collective (CYC). It includes oximeter, PPE Kit, N95 masks, sanitizers, and pamphlets on COVID precautionary measures which will be distributed to villagers. Sanitary pads were also distributed.
It was distributed to seven villages under Dhansiripar, one under Chümoukedima block and two colonies under DMC jurisdiction.
The equipments were distributed by Dr Moatemjen Jamir, Chief Medical Officer, Dimapur, said a press release issued by Sentiwati, Project Coordinator, Can Youth.
During the distribution, the CMO Dimapur said during many people have come forward to help in one or the other way as a sign of oneness and care which is the need of the hour. He urged to continue working together along with the administration, police, church-based organization, CSOs and NGOs and give their best and extending support to overcome this pandemic.
He mentioned that ASHA is one of the most linked workers between the public and the department and has a big responsibility in the community. “They should address the community’s problems and highlight to the departments for taking necessary action in saving the lives of many people,” the CMO said.
