Assam Rifles, ACTS Connect launch ‘Breaking the Silence 3.0’ in Kohima

Assam Rifles, in collaboration with Connect and the Department of Social Welfare launched the third edition of the “Breaking the Silence” campaign at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Kohima on August 5.

KOHIMA, AUGUST 5 (MExN): Assam Rifles, in collaboration with ACTS (Aid, Care Trust and Support) Connect and the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Nagaland, launched the third edition of the “Breaking the Silence” campaign here on Tuesday, focusing on mental health and substance abuse among youth.

The campaign, titled “Breaking the Silence 3.0,” was launched at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School and aims to promote awareness, early intervention, and open dialogue on issues related to mental well-being and drug use, especially among students, a press release stated. 

Maj Gen Manish Kumar, SM, Inspector General of Assam Rifles (North), attended the programme as guest of honour. Limawabang Jamir, IAS, Secretary (AhOD), Department of Social Welfare, was the special guest.

The event saw participation from over 400 students and faculty members from Don Bosco College, Oriental College, Chandmari High School, Mount Olive College, and Sazolie College. Five beauty pageant winners also addressed the gathering, sharing personal insights and encouraging the youth to prioritise mental health and seek help when needed.

The campaign reflects the Assam Rifles’ commitment to engaging with civil society and empowering young minds through education and awareness initiatives, the press release added.
