DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 4 (MExN): The Assam Rifles conducted various civic activities across the state.
Kohima Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) donated sports kits and equipments to students of Kohima Science College , Jotsoma under Kohima District, Nagaland. The sports equipments will support and supplement the competitive spirit entailing a healthy environment of the Government College,” a press release from the PRO, IGAR (N) informed.
In Zunheboto, the battalion of Assam Rifles organised a motivational lecture for the Cadets of National Cadet Corps at BN HQ, Zunheboto district on December 2. Information about various entries in the army to become an officer and guidance for the preparation of the same was disseminated. Cadets inquired about the procedure of service selection Board interview & CDS Examination. Small arms firing exposure was also given to the cadets.
The Mon Battalion of Assam Rifles conducted a drawing Competition at Chenmoho village in Mon District of Nagaland on December 3. The drawing competition was organised to promote creativity among students of the Village. A total of 75 students (40 boys and 35 girls) participated in the event. The competition was followed by prize distribution to motivate children further in pursuing their hobbies to promote wholesome education.
The Tuensang Battalion of Assam Rifles coordinated an Advent Christmas Celebration at Changlanshu COB, Mon district on December 2. The event was attended by the Pastors and Youth Chairpersons of the villages in AOR. The programme witnessed a mass prayer organised by all the attendees for the peace and prosperity of the COB.
Meanwhile, the Mon Battalion of Assam Rifles celebrated International Day of People with Special Abilities in Mon Town on December 3. The event was organised in collaboration with Mon District People's Disabilities Society. A total of 50 persons attended the event.
