Dimapur, June 20 (MExN): Security Forces under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) organised various civic activities across districts in Nagaland.
Kiphire: As per a press release from the HQ IGAR (N), a COVID-19 vaccination cum awareness drive at Kiphire town Kiphire district, was conducted by the Kiphire Battalion of the Assam Rifles assisted the District Administration Kiphire on June 20.
The event was organised in collaboration with COVID-19 Dist Task Force and other CSOs in Kiphire Town. A total of 175 locals got their 1st dose of Covishield jab which included 149 persons in the 18 – 44 years category, 26 persons in the above 45 years category.
The Vaccination drive was spearheaded by Dr Amos, Herole VCCM (UNDP) and the Medical Officer of 7 Assam Rifles.
Phek: Phek Battalion of the Assam Rifles in collaboration with District Task Force Phek organized a COVID-19 Vaccination cum awareness drive at Phek town, Phek district, on June 20.
A total of 227 locals which include 195 individuals of 18-45 years age group and 32 individuals of above 45 years age group got their first dose of vaccine and one female got her second dose of vaccine in this initiative. The vaccination drive was conducted under the guidance of Razouvolie Dozo, DC Phek and medical team of 22 Assam Rifles. All the administrative arrangements including refreshments and food for the civil medical team were provided by the Battalion.
Peren: On the occasion of Father's Day, Jalukie Battalion of Assam Rifles provided humanitarian aid along with COVID-19 awareness drive for the residents of New Jalukie village, Peren district, on June 20.
The team in coordination with Village Council celebrated Father's Day by making an effort to reach the most affected people due to lockdown with necessary items. The team emphasized on use of face masks, social distancing and use of hand sanitizers. A special focus was given on advantages of getting vaccinated. A total of 43 villagers benefitted from the drive.
Meanwhile, the Battalion also organised International Yoga Day for troops and villagers in Peren district on June 20.
The villagers were briefed about the various postures of Yoga and their benefits in the body. They were also informed about the growing importance and popularity of Yoga all over the world. The people were encouraged to make yoga as a part of their daily routine which would help them lead a healthier life. To emphasize more on the benefits of Yoga and celebration of International Yoga Day, posters and banners were also placed in the villages, the press release informed.
Meanwhile, the Jalukie Battalion received a surprise visit from two children, Jason and Sophie at Ahthibung, Peren district on the occasion of Father’s Day on June 20.
The two children presented gifts to all the fathers in the COB and conveyed their gratitude towards Assam Rifles. “This unannounced visit by the siblings and their gratitude towards troops of Assam Rifles surprised all the men at COB and really made their Father's Day memorable,” the AR stated in its press release.
