Assam Rifles hold various activities

Kohima, July 4 (MExN): The Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) organised various activities under its jurisdiction in the recent past, an official release informed.

The release from the PRO, HQ IGAR (N) said that the activities included awareness drive as well as Coordination meetings.

Kiphire:  The Kiphire Battalion of organised a COVID-19 vaccination cum awareness drive in collaboration with the District Task Force at Kiphire Town Kiphire District, Nagaland on July 4. 

Approximately 200 residents of places in and around Kiphire Town got their 1st dose administered by the District task force and Medical staff of Assam Rifles, the release said. 

Jalukie: The Jalukie Battalion of Assam Rifles conducted Security Meets at Tening, Peren, Athibung and Heningkunglwa, Peren District,Nagaland on July 4. 

It was conducted to provide a common platform for interaction with village heads and police personnel, the release said, adding that various issues related to COVID-19 and need for vaccination, Naga Peace process, Army recruitment drive and other employment opportunities along with local tribal issues were discussed.

The villagers also discussed about the problems faced in day to day life during the lockdown and rise in unemployment, it informed. 

Tirap: Meanwhile, the Khonsa Battalion of Assam Rifles conducted security coordination meet at Laju village under Tirap District of Arunachal Pradesh on Sunday. 
The security conference was aimed at creating awareness among the locals regarding increase in extortion, kidnapping and infiltration by various factions, the release said. 
Local population was sensitised about various measures instituted by Assam Rifles to reduce the activities, it noted, adding that the attendees were also “sensitized about early reporting of untoward incidents and insurgent activities to Assam Rifles for maintain peace and harmony in the region.”
Local youth were informed about upcoming recruitment rallies, SSC exams and various employment opportunities in state services, the release said.
