Dimapur, July 8 (MExN): Battalions of the Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) conducted vaccination drive and other activities in several places during the last few days.
An update from HQ IGAR (N) stated that the Kiphire Battalion of Assam Rifles organised medical camp at Tukhinkiu village, Kiphire district. In addition to deliberating upon the safety protocols of COVID-19, health check-ups of villagers was done and required treatment including medicines were provided.
On July 7, the Kiphire Battalion of AR in collaboration with the medical staff of PHC Moya village conducted COVID-19 vaccination drive at Khongjiri village. More than 60 residents of Mimi village got their first jab taking the total to 66 out of 104 eligible residents.
The Battalion held an interaction with village elders and authorities of New Vongti village, Kiphire district on July 8. It focused on the AR increasing the awareness on prevention from COVID-19 pandemic and to encourage people to take vaccination.
Jalukie Battalion of AR in collaboration with civil authorities conducted a mega vaccination drive at Jalukie Town, Peren district on July 7. A total of 98 individuals were vaccinated and were also provided with other medical help.
The Jalukie Battalion of AR also organised a COVID-19 awareness drive for the residents of Ntu village, Peren district on July 8. A total of 43 villagers benefited during the drive.
The Dimapur Battalion of AR interacted with village elders, Chairman and GBs of Dimapur town and discussed the prevalent security and COVID-19 situation on July 6 and 7. A total of 86 attended the event.
Ghaspani Battalion of AR interacted with village elders, Chairman and Gaon Burah's of Old Showuba, Kulidolong and Piphema villages, Dimapur district, Nagaland on July 8. Altogether 32 village elders, Chairman and GBs attended the event, HQ IGAR (N) stated.
