Kohima, March 21 (MExN): The Department of School Education (DoSE) Nagaland on Sunday informed that assessment camp for children with disabilities has begun in Zunheboto and Tuensang districts.
The camp will continue till March 30 in all districts of Nagaland, Tali Jamir Deputy Mission Director informed in a press release on March 21.
It is being held under Samagra Shiksha programme in convergence with Health & Family Welfare for visually impaired; Starkey New Delhi for hearing impaired and Top Prosthetic & Orthotics Rehabilitation Centre Imphal for artificial leg, hands, shoes etc for children with locomotor disability.
Spectacles will be provided by the Health and Family welfare department after the assessment camp while artificial legs, hands, shoes etc and fitting of hearing aids on the spot will be provided by DoSE under Samagra Shiksha programme, the release added.
The facilities of the camp can be availed by both school going and non-school going children with disabilities aged between 6 to 18 years, according to the release.
