ASSOCHAM appoints new chairperson for Eastern region

New Delhi, March 24 (MExN):  Ravi Agarwal, President Rupa and Co Ltd and Director Neo Metaliks Ltd has been appointed as Chairperson for ASSOCHAM Eastern Region Development Council. The appointment was made by Executive Board Members of the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) for the industries of Eastern Region, a press release informed on Wednesday.

Agarwal, who believes in leading by example and making structured contributions that can successfully augment the growth of an organization, while commenting on this new role, said, “I am honoured to be appointed as Chairperson for ASSOCHAM Eastern Region Council. ASSOCHAM as one of the oldest and apex knowledge chamber of India has such a rich heritage and lineage of leadership. India has critical role in the post pandemic global development and ASSOCHAM national leadership is committed towards nation building. I look forward to taking up the agenda of growth and prosperity of industry and the mission of ASSOCHAM in the Eastern part of India.” 

According to the release, Ravi Agarwal has played a key role in nurturing and developing major brands under Rupa & Co—one of the largest and leading manufacturers of knitwear in India, covering the entire range of knitted garments from innerwear to casual wear. He established Neo Metaliks Limited in 2003; the company is a leading producer of “high-quality pig Iron” in Eastern India, which supplies to reputed consumers all over India. 

Agarwal holds MBA from European University, Geneva and has taken up Owner Management Program from Harvard Business School, Boston and holds chair of several associations and forums, the release stated. 

ASSOCHAM Eastern Region Council will explore the untapped industry potential under the able leadership of the new chairperson, said Perminder Jeet Kaur , Regional Director, ASSOCHAM – East and North East in the release.
