ASTD, WYH support 30-day ultimatum on Foothill Road

Dimapur, August 25 (MExN): The Ao Senso Telongjem Dimapur (ASTD) has reiterated to stand in continuous unanimity with the Nagaland Foothill Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) for construction of the Foothill Road. The ASTD in a press release affirmed to support the 30-day ultimatum issued by the NFHRCC on August 7 to the Government “to maintain the Foothills Road pliable while waiting for the proposed mega project” and its completion. The Government is yet to fulfill its commitment and “rather showing more signs of failure to respond positively to the ultimatum in particular and the public cause in general,” the ASTD observed. While reaffirming to endorse the NFHRCC ultimatum on the government, it also resolved to take “any appropriate means of action” in solidarity with the NFHRCC.

Western Yimkhiung Hoho (WYH) has also extended its full support to the representation submitted by the NFHRCC to the State Government with a dateline of 30-days ending on September 6. In this connection, WYH in a press note said, “since the project is a very genuine and important lifeline road of the masses, we believe that the State Government will look into the matter as special case and hope that positive response will be assure soon.” However, if the State Government fails to consider the representation, the WYH is ready to face any kind of democratic agitation when calls by the NFHRCC, it added.
