ASUD invites for marathon

Dimapur, January 27 (MExN): The Ao Students' Union Dimapur (ASUD) has invited interested citizens to participate in the Quarter Marathon to be organised by the union on January 29 in commemoration of its golden jubilee year.  

A press release from the union informed that cash prizes will be awarded in both men's and women's categories as follows: First prize - Rs. 20,000, second prize - Rs. 10,000, third prize - Rs. 5,000. In addition, consolation cash prizes of Rs. 1000 each will be given to five male and five female runners. Gift hampers will also be handed out to the oldest and youngest runners.

Registration for the marathon will be free and desks will be open between 5:00 am and 5:40 am at the State Stadium on the said date. Therefore, runners have been requested to arrive on time and register, after which, chest numbers will be allotted. There will be strict adherence to time schedule and rules laid down, the release stated.  

Imlimeren Jamir, Director, Rural Development, Government of Nagaland and Akashe Zhimomi, President, Dimapur Chamber of Commerce & Industries, will be the Chief Patron and Patron of the event respectively. Sushil Kumar Patel, Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur will also exhort the participants at the flag off ceremony. The ASUD has specially invited its former office bearers, secretaries and members to be a part of the marathon.
