Punanamei (Manipur), March 22 (MExN): The 2nd Spring Fest 2026 of Asufii Christian Institute (Autonomous College), Punanamei in Senapati district, was celebrated with enthusiasm from March 20 to 21 under the theme “Blooming Together in Excellence and Unity.”
The two-day festival brought together students, faculty and visitors in a vibrant celebration of culture, talent and creativity.
The event was inaugurated by Principal Dr Daili Neli, who in his keynote address highlighted the spirit of renewal, growth and unity, and described the festival as a platform for nurturing confidence, leadership and teamwork beyond academics.
The first day, themed “Rhythm of Cultures,” showcased the rich cultural heritage of the region, particularly Naga traditions. Events included folk dance, ululation, horn blowing, bamboo climbing, winnowing, bamboo race, hopscotch and traditional fire-making, with participants donning traditional attire. A major highlight was the Naga wrestling competition.
The second day, under the sub-theme “Fiction to Reality,” focused on contemporary expression with competitions such as cosplay, solo and group dances, western band contests and a talent hunt.
A major highlight of the festival was the musical concert featuring performances by Aseno Metha of Nagaland, popularly known as the “MOMO Girl” from Dimapur, and Yung Yung of Manipur, known for his contributions to contemporary Naga music.
Blending tradition with modernity, the festival strengthened bonds among participants and reaffirmed the institute’s commitment to promoting unity, excellence and cultural appreciation.
