ATMA Kohima draws variety of indigenous veg

Kohima | September 16 : A one day sales day cum exhibition, organized by ATMA Kohima was held today here at local ground.
More than 20 societies and over 100 participants participated in the one day event which took place for the first time in Kohima. Indigenous vegetables like potato, chilli, pumpkin, yam, corn, ginger, banana, guava, beans, squash and wild flowers like rhododendron, wild orchids etc, handloom products, leather form cushions are the products displayed which are said to be on sale at a discount rate.
Varieties of candle, manufactured by Kehingye SHG, under ATMA Tsimenyu was also seen at the display ground. Multi purpose cooperative society, Viswema who earlier went on tour at Shimal displayed large amount the potatoes harvested from forest through the trainings they obtained during the tour.
Peleneilhou Patrick, Deputy Project Director said that objective behind the exhibition cum sales day is to review the activities of FIGs thereby new FIGs may also be recruited in place of those who are not active. He also said that the participants will be judged on punctuality, arrangement, quality and quantity of the products and display and they will be awarded cash accordingly though the date and time is yet to be ascertained.
Earlier, Director of Agriculture & SNO (ATMA) Nagaland, A.Y Ovung launched the exhibition cum sales day.
