ATMA Tsg advances handicraft, handloom

Dimapur, July 4 (MExN): Handicraft and Handloom occupy a prominent place for the people in Tuensang towards income generating enterprise. With an aim to boost this enterprise, ATMA Tuensang organised a one day district level handicraft exhibition-cum-competition on June 30 at the town hall.
In the exhibition the thrust events were competition on tribal Shawls, Meghalas, Waist coats, Bamboo & Cane crafts and wood crafts. More than a thousand items were registered for the competition and show. Judges for the exhibition were Branch Manager, NSCB; Functional Manager, Industries Department and SDO (Civil). Prizes comprising of 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 2 Nos. of consolation for each category were given away in the evening. Women SHGs of ATMA also took part by selling handicrafts. Sotsula, Additional Deputy commissioner, Tuensang was the chief guest for the Exhibition-cum-Competition as well as in the Sensitisation Programme for the New Dy. PDs, FF, BTMs, SMS & ATMA staff under New Extension Reforms Programme (ATMA).
The programme was chaired by Dr. Vikshe Sema, Dy. Project Director where as Key note address and introduction of the new ATMA officials was delivered by Dr. Moa Walling, Project Director & DHO and H. Shou, Asstt. Sericulture Officer & AMC member delivered the vote of thanks. Chief Guest after short speech of exhortation gave away Cell phones to the Farmers Friend, Block Technology Managers and Subject Matter Specialists; honorarium for FFs and prizes to the winners of the District level Exhibition-cum-competition on Handicraft.  This was stated in a press release issued by ATMA Tuensang Project Director.
