Whether we have gone through the novel’ Da Vinci Code’ or seen the movie or not, the central focal point’s aggravation is very clear. “The marriage of Jesus with Mary Magdalene and having a daughter and the Priory of Sion maintaining secrecy in protecting the bloodline of Christ down to this day and Leonardo da Vinci is learnt to be a member of that society”. What a clever fiction to twist the truth and confuse the smooth flow of the Christians’ faith. Dan Brown has come to all the Christians like unsolicited and unexpected guest visiting us in 2003 but its presence is felt and acknowledged only in 2006 in India and Nagaland. How can we stop selling the book which had been already sold out more than millions and still selling in India like hot cakes? And how can we stop the movie which had been already screened?
Sooner or later, the’ Da Vinci Code’ will arrive to every Christian’s door step thence all will come to know the real projection of Brown’s intention of revealing his inner self. Anyway, it is a creatively created heretic. And the question is how will we react and respond him before the world? We have learnt from history that several oppositions, conflicts and philosophies came up to shatter Christian religion and blasphemed the name of God in the early centuries and Brown’s work is not exempted from those attacks continuing till to these days. But Christians must be well aware of all kinds of tricks that is going to distract us from our religion’s doctrine. In time, such as this religious polluted environment we have the privilege to re-affirm our faith in the Lord and never let the fictitious concept encroach our religion’s basic principle of faith. Never let the” Da Vinci Code” distorts and changes the code of our faith.
“ Da Vinci Code” is only a fiction in disguise. The author must have prepared the work in a multi-dimensional architect that all who perceives can not comprehend what he really meant in a glance. Better detect that there is no telepathy between the word which Brown inscribed” Fiction” and his main text of work. Thus, his well planned idea must be to put some problem in the Christian Religion by brainwashing the readers and viewers and telling that he also a Christian too. But naive people will only believe those lightly coated statements. For all these reasons, Brown must have borrowed or collected several ideas from historical writings against Christians.
Before the end of the first century, Rome became the greatest enemy of Christianity and several misinterpretations were made to interrupt the Christians thus Brown must have got wisp of ideas to form seemingly fiction to attack the Christians from the back door that no one will be aware of. Another possibility is that, Sadducees as rationalists denied all sources of Christ’s resurrection created stories to blaspheme the name of our Lord and Savior of the world and the idea still continues to this day through Brown. Still, he might have got some sources to write this kind of “Fiction in disguise” from a heathen apologist, Celsus, who was well acquainted with Christians’ teaching wrote a book in 177 A.D. called” A true discourse” against Christianity that is how all his learning and wit created several arguments within the Christians’ community of that time. Or from the controversy between two Presbyters in the Church in Alexandria, first Athanasius, who confessed Christ as the very God and not less than God is our Savior and second was Arius who advocated that Christ was the first and highest of all created beings so he denied the deity of Christ as God. Therefore the emperor Constantine called a general council to settle the dispute in 325 A.D. in a small town in Asia minor called Nicaea, where more than 300 Bishops attended and Arius view was condemned as heresy and then Nisaea Creed was made the first written Creed of the Church in the history of the Church. But Arius’s view must have motivated and given interest to the mind of Brown that made him to bring out the work to attack Christian in a very different way as “Da Vinci Code” .Or it is a continues of Nestorius’ idea, who emphasis more on the human nature of Christ that made him to think marriage is common to humanity? Many more suspected sources of Brown’s” Da Vinci Code” can be suggested but its only conclusion is that this work is never of his own creation. And it is an advertent attack on Christian Religion in general. May lie be a good writer with a very high caliber, its intellectual assault to the Christian’s fundamental principle of faith.” Da Vinci Code “will become the popular antagonism between Christians and the author. We can not bear the way he blasphemes the Christian’s God. He just used the word” Fiction” as opium to the readers. .
By talking about the” Da Vinci Code” we are not popularizing Dan Brown or his work. We must talk to the point, why he brings out such idea to shower upon the Christians? We must scratch where people are itching as this is going to affect the work of the Christian missionaries and also the nominal Christians at large. Many people may think Brown’s highly intellect work as a mere fiction. Some may say, “It’s like any other novel “, “So what, if Jesus had a wife and a daughter, that doesn’t have to do with my faith in Him” , “ Priory of Sion may keep the secret for thousands of years or let there be an Opus Dei to oppose that, those are only fiction and its none of our business”, “ We should not take it the views of Brown into dept “, “ We should remember the words of our Lord saying, Father, forgive them for they do not know what they are doing’, so its no point of talking much on Brown’s work”, “ If we believe in what we have believed that’s all “ all of these easy answers are heard, but mends, beware, it’s a fiction in disguise and do not let this form of a good novel tranquillizes your thinking. We should contribute our introspective views against Brown’s work which make caricature of whom We Christians believe our Lord and Savior. Where are all the Christian religious right thinkers have gone? Why remains a mere unobtrusive with this meretricious work of Brown? Let’s all denounce the” Da Vinci Code” which tries to deceive the Christians with a hoax in the form of a “Fiction”. But to do that only banning will not be a successful one as it already has spread to all comers of the world. Spreading the Good News in a more affective way than before and advocate against this tricky work of Brown will only give a good result. May the power of God invade our minds of complacency for regarding “Da Vinci Code” a fiction and a good novel.
As the faith of the Christian Church was tempered in the fire from all kinds of attacks and Controversies in the early history of Christianity let us regenerate our faith in Spirit-¬ and stay firm in moments of skeptic time. May all the Christians wear the armour of faith and fight against this work of Dan Brown” Da Vinci Code “, a fiction in disguise.
