Zunheboto, April 17 (MExN): Medical camp cum awareness programme on Non Communicable Disease (NCD) and Oral Cancer was conducted at Khuwaboto Prayer Fellowship on April 16.
The programme was organised by National Programme Non Communicable Diseases and National Oral Health Programme Zunheboto, and screened and treated more than 170 beneficiaries.
A total of 48 beneficiaries were screened for oral cancer, 30 beneficiaries for tooth extraction and eye checkups were conducted on 41 beneficiaries, the District Programme Officer (NCD) Zunheboto stated in a press release.
Medical team comprised of Dr N Mhonchan Kithan, District Programme Officer (NCD) and Dr Esther Ngullie, Senior Dental Surgeon District Hospital Zunheboto, Dr Tohito H Achumi, Orthopaedics, NCD staffs, NLEP staffs and NOHP staffs.
Awareness talks on NCD and Oral Cancer were also given by the medical officers during the medical camp. Hotopu Yeptho, Deacon, Khuwaboto Prayer Fellowship Zunheboto expressed gratitude to the medical team for taking the initiative and organising the free medical camp.
