Phek | July17 : Minister for Health & Family Welfare, government of Nagaland, Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu yesterday asserted, ‘Unity among the community is the key role in the process of developing both the human and infrastructure in society. Urging upon the Chozuba area people to build up good relationship among them, Azo said a spirit of cultivating the unity would automatically prevail where he said; it would pave way out a healthier life.
Addressing the first ever annual get together cum observation of ‘Khuthonye” festival of Chozuba Area Welfare Union Phek Town (CAWUPT) as feast father on July 16 at Town Hall, Phek, Azo dwelled on the importance of maintaining and preserving the aged-old cultures and traditions of our forefathers. He stated that those are the real identity of the present generation, which is indeed the future scope of the society to cope with the rest of the nation.
Expressing his genuine concern of maintaining the culture and traditions, he said despite preserving the same with sincerity, he further suggested, ‘the same should be opted to preserve and practice under Christian perspective unlike observing rituals being practice by forefathers’ which is never match with the present situation. The original preservation of cultures and traditions under Christian attitude by thanking God for being providing beautiful cultures, there is never a place to be criticised and regarded as anti-Christian life.
Throwing a giant challenge to the congregation, Azo firmly suggested, ‘Killing of animals and other natural rare species under great quantity for the sake of festival observation should be immediately stopped’. He said, Nagaland as land of festivals, there is no question of observing the festival with restriction. He however maintained that with the increasing of global population ever now and then, there is a clear vision of human existing under threat, it is the equal responsibility of every individual to preserve natural beings by giving its best effort and in the meantime contributing due shares towards the enhancing of the “Global Warming”.
Nienu was optimistic that there is no issue of under standard observation of festivals with rare and vegetarian products and thus urge them to choose the cultivated products, ‘our cultivated product which is purely organic is a healthy food’, he added. Nagas are in the habit of opting tasty food instead of healthy food, Nienu while sharing his concern for the long life span of humanity, further urge the congregation to opt for healthy food so as life a longer duration of life adding it is the individual duty to decide the health of its own. Expressing his happiness over the good unity of the Chozuba area where festival is being organized with grand arrangement, Nienu also donated a sum of money towards the CAWUPT fund. The day long festival was witnessed by several dignitaries - SP, Phek Vikashe, ADC, Nyuthosie, Additional SP Khrusa Keyho, Ex-Minister Vejoi Vero, NPF Phek Division President Chivotso Nienu, NPF Youth Wing President Welo Wezah, PAPO President Zashevoyi Lohe, PTC Chief Advisor K.Shevotso Rhakho etc.
