Hangrum village, July 26 (MExN): The 1st Dimki Session of the All Zeliangrong Students’ Union (AZSU) and the induction programme for its newly elected Executive Council (tenure 2026–2029) were held at Hangrum village, Assam on July 24.
The newly inducted office bearers, President Haiheube Kuame and Secretary General Liangkiudinbo Marenmai, along with other executives took oath to uphold the AZSU constitution and work with integrity, transparency and dedication for the rights and aspirations of the Zeliangrong student community, stated a press release.
During the session, the House deliberated on critical issues, particularly the urgent need to strengthen collective identity and solidarity among the Zeliangrong people. Members unanimously resolved to foster mutual respect and cooperation among all community organisations and individuals to achieve lasting progress.
Expressing deep concern over the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Manipur, the Union conveyed heartfelt sympathy to affected families and reaffirmed its commitment to advocate for peace, justice, security, and the protection of rights and dignity of all victims.
Addressing the gathering, President Kuame thanked the members for their trust and called for sincere, disciplined, and collective efforts to strengthen the organisation. Secretary General Marenmai assured that the Executive would work with principle and accountability, actively engaging with student concerns across the state and other parts of India.
The programme, which began with an invocation and welcome address, concluded with a vote of thanks to dignitaries, delegates, and participants. The Session ended with a renewed resolve to build a stronger, united, and progressive Zeliangrong community under the new leadership for 2026–2029.
