Dimapur, June 13 (MExN): Apropos to the statements appeared on May 27 and June 6, that the All Rongmei Development Committee, Jiribam (ARDC) and the Zeliangrong Students’ Union Barak Valley (ZSU-BV) supported the proposed demand to convert Jiribam Sub-division into a full-fledged revenue district a rejoinder has been issued by All Zeliangrong Students’ Union Assam, Manipur & Nagaland (AZSUAMN).
The union general secretary, Nchaheing Kompoing said that it is a misleading statement and there is no decision on the part of the Rongmei community and Zeliangrong students Union neither to oppose nor to support the creation of purposed Jiribam district provided it does not touch an inch of Zeliangrong land including Tamenglong district.
Therefore, AZSUAMN disowns those statements which appeared in the local papers in support of demand for creation of Jiribam district. Further, the All Zeliangrong Students’ Union (AMN) seriously warns those vested individuals and organization not to issue statement or utter its support to that controversial demand and issue to the detriment of our own territory.
The Union also appeals all right thinking citizens to extend support and cooperation as and when AZSU takes up any important issue concerning public importance and causes.
