Dimapur, September 27 (MExN): A day after Jagadguru Shankaracharya Maharaj and five other disciples were prevented from getting out of the Dimapur airport terminal by Nagaland state government officials, Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati '1008' has said that banning entry into Nagaland is injustice.
The planned stopover of the Gau Dhwaj Sthapana Bharat Yatra (Nationwide tour for raising cow flag) in Nagaland on September 26 was stopped short at the Dimapur airport.
The Media in-charge, Shailendra Yogiraj in a press release on Friday stated that the Maharaj and the Yatra team were informed of the “prohibitory order” passed by the Government of Nagaland. “Pujyapad Shankaracharya Maharaj said that we neither opposed the culture of Nagaland, nor opposed the Nagaland government, nor opposed the citizens here, nor talked about any kind of separation, then on what basis are we not being allowed to come here?,” the Media in-charge stated.
It also questioned the Government of Nagaland on why they were being stopped. Further it claimed that “reiterating his resolution, Shankaracharya Ji Maharaj strengthened his resolution and hoisted the cow flag on the soil of Nagaland and on the request of ADC gave a 10-minute video message to the Chief Minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio.” It repeated the resolution that cow mother should be declared the mother of the nation.
It also claimed that “hundreds of devotees of Bhagwad from Nagaland supported Shankaracharya Ji's movement through personal messages and over phone, but due to fear for their lives, they could not come forward.”
