Baptist Church New Socunoma Golden Jubilee monolith being dedicated by Rev. Zotuo Kiewhuo, Pastor Koinonia Baptist Church, Kohima on December 18.
Dimapur, December 20 (MExN): The Golden Jubilee celebration of Baptist Church New Socünoma (BCNS) from (1961-2011) was held in a solemn programme at its newly inaugurated church premises on December 18 last with Reverend Zotuo Kiewhuo, Pastor of Koinonia Baptist Church, Kohima as the main speaker.
Greeting the people on the occasion after inaugurating the jubilee monolith, Kiewhuo, also principal of Kohima Bible College said that jubilee year is a triumphant year and it signifies the spirit of liberty and freedom from sin and bondage. Stating that it is a time for restoration of relationships, forgiveness and reconciliation he further maintained that jubilee, if celebrated in right earnest can be a year of blessings or also a curse, if it’s true meaning is not understood.
A minute silence was also observed in memory of the departed On December 17, 2011 the new church building of BCNS was dedicated by Rev. Moa Longchari, Pastor, Baptist Mission Church, Kohima.
Speaking on the topic ‘A house of prayer’ Mark 17:15-19, Ist Kings 8:27-30, he said that if we look in the Bible, especially the old Testament, church was built as a sign of significant victory in the lives of great people, whose lives were touched by God. He however said that building a palatial church alone is not enough unless the church’s biggest priority of spreading the gospel of Christ to all nations is realized and the love of God is manifested in our lives, to inspire others to know God. He urged them to lead a prayerful life, which is the sole criteria to determine our relationship with God and is an indication of our hope and dependence on Him, as all worldly things are temporary.
