Shamator, October 28 (MExN): The Baptist Youth Fellowship Shamator Town (BYFST) Gospel Olympic, concluded with a valedictory session graced by LakiumongYimchunger, General Secretary of the Shamator District Badminton Associationon October 28.
The event was organised by the Yimkhiung Baptist BorüAmukhongto (YBBA) in collaboration with the Department of Youth Resource & Sports, Government of Nagaland, the BYFST Gospel Olympic was held under the inspiring theme “Together in Spirit; Stronger in Play.”
The event brought together seven churches in friendly competition and fellowship.The primary aim of the Gospel Olympic was to engage non-church-going youth and foster meaningful connections through sports ministry and shared faith experiences.
A DIPR report stated here that addressing the participants, Lakiumong emphasized that “true success is not measured merely by academic degrees or formal education, but by the excellence and sincerity one brings to whatever they do.” He encouraged the youth to give their best in every endeavour and strive to excel in their chosen paths.
A short message was delivered by ChubaYimchunger, Youth Secretary of YBBA, who shared insights from Jeremiah 12:5, reflecting on perseverance and faith through the lens of sportsmanship.
The event concluded with a Thanksgiving Worship Service, where the gathering was filled with joy and spiritual fervour, offering heartfelt praise and glory to God. The Shamator Town Baptist Church (STBC) Youth led an uplifting session of praise and worship, filling the venue with songs of gratitude and unity.
The service culminated with a Thanksgiving prayer offered by Lato R.Yimchunger, President of BYFST.
