Nagaland’s rural development advisor Dr Neikiesalie (Nicky) Kire today inaugurated Barü Bridge at Mima Village under Kohima district in the presence of Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) speaker Vikho-o Yhoshü and several other dignitaries. This Bridge, constructed by RD department, plays as economic importance, which link with the beekeeping project in Mima village.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Nicky said that RD department stands committed for overall development of the rural populace in the state.
He called upon the people to make the best use of the provided facility to boost the rural economy.
Horticulture advisor Mhathung Yanthan said that Mima village is known worldwide for its unique underground traditional beekeeping practice.
Apart from their unique practice, he said the village is popularly known for honey production in the state.
Water resources development advisor Namri Nchang also spoke on the occasion and assured fullest support to the villagers.
Neizosie-o Rhutsu, joint secretary Michazou Bee Keeping Society, Mima said that the bridge will become a lifeline for agri and allied related activities in the village.
He said that it would boost beekeeping activities and help promote eco-tourism as well.
Earlier, the function was chaired by Aletuo Shunyu while welcome address was delivered by Mima village council chairman Neichüzo Keyie.
Vote of thanks was proposed by Mima GB Zhathose Keyie.
