‘Be Peace Crusader,’ urges Minister KG Kenye

Nagaland Power & Parliamentary Affairs Minister KG Kenye today said that Chakhesang community should be peace crusader in the present Naga society.” He said this while addressing the 43rd general session of the Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO)-cum-Chakhesang Day at Phek town under the theme “Celebrating legacy, embracing progress” and hosted by Phek Town Public Forum (PTPF).

He said that Chakhesang tribe despite its limitation is progressing well in many fronts because of the sacrifice of the elders and the unity and understanding among the community.

He also appreciated the CPO leaders for tirelessly working for the welfare of the community and its interest.

Kenye also urged the civil societies organizations to remain free from political affiliations and emphasised that public leaders should not carry political biases.

He advocated for civil societies organizations leaders to detach themselves from political posts and affiliations to lead the community fairly and avoid suspicion or succumbing to party pressures.

Also exhorting the gathering, former minister K Therie called upon the Chakhesang community to love one another in the name of Christ and in the name of good virtues of the forefathers. He also stressed on the need to speak the truth and strengthen Chakhesang unity and integrity.

Nomination Committee Convenor, Nuzota Swuro has announced the new office bearers of the CPO for the tenure 2025-2027. President-Vezuhu Keyho, Vice President-Vecito Dozo & Velapra Shijo, General Secretary-Chepetso Koza, Secretary-Neilhouzu Zholia, Finance Secretary-Satahi Shüjo, treasurer- Wepekha Wetsah, Property Secretary- Nuveshe Tetseo, Publicity & Media Secretary-Shepo Hiese, Women Coordinator-Wepretsou Kupa and Kudukholu D.Vadeo.

Dedicatory prayer for CPO new team was led by Rev Dr Chekrovei Cho-o, Executive Secretary Chakhesang Baptist Church Council. The programme was chaired by CPO Vice President Vecito Dozo will welcome address was delivered by Api Vadeo, President PTPF.

Earlier, CPO president Vezuhu Keyho delivered presidential address while general secretary and finance secretary report was given by Chepetso Koza and Satahi Shüjo respectively. Rev Z David Koza, executive secretary CCCRC and Nuvesayi Hoshi, president CCA prayed for the programme. Kutsapo and Porba village performed cultural song.
