My dear leaders and politicians of Nagaland, the State people personally elected you to act in good conscience, to look after the people and people have trusted that you will protect them in turn, they believed your promise and waited. You must protect the trust of people, protecting that trust is your cause. As universities keep their missions to nurture talented individuals, while enterprises work to partner with their employees, understand their pain and grow together; likewise, you must also fulfil our genuine mission.
When you are sitting in luxury car with Red Beacon bearing NL 10, please think once who has made you to sit in the luxury car, and for what purpose? Don’t go to centre on behalf of poor people and later ask for financial help, just for your benefit, it is the biggest Sin in God's eye. It is incredible to know that the recently published of CAG report for the year 2014-2015 in Nagaland Post, crores and crores of Rupees corruption was reported in projects and various departments.
It was found that out of 307 incompleted projects, 213 projects expenditure were due to be completed by March 2015 but remained incomplete as of October 2015 and two projects taken up under PWD (R&B) had been suspended without completion, failure to inspect mid-day meal and financial mismanagement, misuse of 5069 ration cards PDS under food and civil supplies department, Embezzlement of MGNREGA fund, lapse in planning, financial management and construction of sports infrastructure under Department of Youth Resource and Sports, etc and were it was also found that failure to come up industries in Nagaland was also the reason that the payment made of Rs 2.32 crores to 48 ineligible and seven non-functional societies allegedly by director of industries and commerce, and according to NPCC public grievances department (PGD) which was publish in Nagaland Post March 31 2016 documents pertaining to the years 2013 and 2015 from State tourism department were yet to receive and with no actual payee receipts and no entry fee were also considered as government revenue, the department spent Rs 11.95 crores on Hornbill festival during 2010,2011,2012 and 2014 and resulting loss of Rs 11 crores, 87 lakhs and 99 thousands to the public exchequer and the suspension of additional director and HoD of Municipal Affairs for alleged misappropriation of Rs 2.3 crore from two schemes of central funds is quite alarming.
Here corruption sign came to light and it clearly shows your attitude and people have lost trust in you. Corruption in Nagaland is like runaway vehicles with brake failure. A runaway vehicle will only stop when it collides with something collision.
Nevertheless in Nagaland development of Roads takes place only during Hornbill festival in a "hurry bury", Nagaland would have been developed long back in terms of Roads and other Infrastructure if we have only been utilize the exact fund that was meant for development, but instead development takes places only in luxury building and luxury car, etc and not for the betterment of Nagaland and I don’t mind if it is your genuine hard-earned money and assets. Spending thousands of Rupees of public money as travelling expenses is only wastage.
Though you visit Delhi for development of Nagaland it does not make any sense. Nagaland is still the same until you change your mind set. Spend public money for poor people and pay salary on time and please try to give student’s scholarship money on time without keeping it on the bank for a long period. The ideology of your mindset will only cause the new generation to suffer in future, while other states are much ahead of us. We don’t usually force you to become Leader but it is you yourself who make that choice so there must be a good reason.
To make complaints and give correction is our duty and to hear patiently and solve our problem is your duty, making excuse just in order to gain political problem will not make any sense of respect. When the VVIP delay for 5 minutes thousands of people suffer, but most of the time they don’t bother about that as long as they are comfortable and when they retire his colleagues would deliver speech during the farewell saying, they will never forget him and everyone will feel his physical absence from tomorrow and will miss him and etc… and the retiring person would say, “please forgive me for all mistakes which I have made unknowingly and I wish our department very good luck ”. But only God knows and He will judge each and every one of us accordingly to what we have done.
I think admitting a mistake and apologizing doesn’t make anyone a smaller person. The modern times of today may hear your words but they will only observe the balance between your words and attitude or in other words your Action. Everyone wants a change and want to see it and not the changes and upgradation made to luxury buildings and replacing old vehicle with new luxury vehicle, we want developmental changes too for 100 years, not a 1 year development which later becomes underdevelopment, who wants to remain static after celebrating 50 years of statehood. I dream for change and also many organizations are fighting against corruption for change.
Last but not the least. There cannot be lack of development but it is because of the lack of good leadership that gives birth to lack of development and corruption. Kuknalim
