The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President, Jagat Prakash Nadda has appointed Benjamin Yepthomi as the new president of Nagaland state BJP, replacing Temjen Imna Along, Minister for Tourism and Higher Education to the post. 

In an organizational appointment letter issued today, Arun Singh, National general secretary and headquarter in-charge stated that this appointment comes into immediate effect.

Benjamin Yepthomi son of late Khehokhu Yepthomi (Founder of Thahekhu Village and Khehokhu Village) from Dimapur district has been an active member of the BJP for a very long time.

He has been holding various responsibilities in the organizations and has been a hardworking karyakarta of the party. Yepthomi has been very active in the Election Management of the party in 2018 and 2023 assembly elections of the state. He campaigned for the party in elections of various states like Assam, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Bengal, Karnataka, Mumbai.

He was in-charge of the grand rally of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Dimapur during the elections. He also organized the Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan of the party which was highly appreciated by the central leadership. He was state BJYM president for two consecutive terms. He was also state vice president of BJP Nagaland.

Following the appointment, former BJP state president Temjen Imna Along congratulated Yepthomi on X. “Heartiest congratulations to Shri @YepthomiBen on his appointment as the new President of @BJP4Nagaland. Your vision and commitment will definitely take BJP Nagaland to greater heights.  My best wishes for a successful tenure ahead.” Imna Along tweeted. 

Besides Nagaland, the BJP also announced appointments of new presidents in Meghalaya and Puducherry on Monday. In Meghalaya, Rikman Momin will take charge of the Meghalaya office. S Selvaganabathy has been appointed as president of Puducherry BJP.
