Wokha, December 11 (MExN): Bhandari Sub-division Departmental Co-ordination meeting cum advent Christmas celebration was held at Hayiyan village on December 10.
A DIPR report stated that in his Christmas greetings on the theme ‘Count your blessings’, Tiameren Chang, Additional Deputy Commissioner Bhandari called upon the gathering to be grateful for the blessings in one’s life and to reach out to make difference in the lives of others who are in need.
Spoken words and actions of a person bears result with time and therefore, we should learn to deposit acts of kindness, peace, love and caring attitude in the lives of our family, friends and the society in general in order to lead a happy life and to live in a more congenial world, he added.
Watichuchang, Deputy Commandant 7th NAP, who spoke on 'What Christmas means to me', said that Christmas may be a time of festivity and cheer but it should also be a time of self introspection, strengthening of one's faith and to get closer to the one who came for our redemption.
Sharing a personal experience, he cited an observation that the more festivity and merriment people have during holidays, policemen become busier and their workload gets heavier. But learning to consider duty above self makes it easier, he added.
Speaking on behalf of the host village, Chenithung W. Humtsoe, Executive Director, Bethesda Youth Welfare Centre, Dimapur thanked the Civil Administration Bhandari, for leading the Officers Forum in adopting Hayiyan as a model village.
He stated that the visionary step has given hope and encouragement to the farming villagers to re-energise their endeavour in tapping their potentials for self reliance and economic empowerment.
He also appealed the Officers not to neglect their assigned areas of duty in serving the public through their respective departments as the Lotha Lower Range area is still lagging in many areas.
Lily Ngullie APRO, Bhandari, who led the Carol singing also presented special numbers with her son Kimithan J.Kikon.
Earlier in the day, pastor Hayiyan Village, Motsuo Khenjung prayed for the programme which was attended by Village Council members, church leaders and elders of the village. Thungjanbemo Ezung BDO, Bhandari chaired the programme.
