A multimedia presentation showcased the journey of Peace Channel and its leaders, emphasizing the organization’s role in promoting peace through education and engagement in Nagaland.

The keynote address was delivered by Jose V Abraham, District Coordinator for Peace Channel, who highlighted the importance of nurturing peace within families and communities. He stressed the role of peace gatherings like the Peace Knit Fest in eradicating tribalism and racism, fostering unity among diverse groups.

The fest featured various performances, including a vibrant rendition of “Rolling in the Deep” by the BSW 1st Semester group, The Rhythm Raiders. Most Rev. Jose Mukala was honored with a token of appreciation from Dr. C. P. Anto, Principal of NEISSR, for his efforts in promoting peace.

In his address, Bishop Mukala, drawing inspiration from Mother Teresa's quote "Peace Begins With a Smile," urged participants to take personal responsibility in cultivating peace. He emphasized the need for small acts of kindness and collective efforts to build a peaceful society. He called for embracing diversity, promoting inclusivity, and supporting peace initiatives as essential steps towards lasting harmony.

The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks by Barnic Gangmei, Assistant Professor at NEISSR, followed by the Peace Anthem. The fest continued with an extempore speech competition, where students shared their perspectives on cultivating peace.

The day’s events also included group discussions, teamwork sessions, a folk song competition, and a cultural attire presentation, celebrating the region’s rich heritage and traditions.
