Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister and BLP leader Y Patton today said that vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been clear to ensure that every citizen, regardless of where they live, has access to basic necessities, modern infrastructure and opportunities for growth.

In Nagaland, this vision is coming to life in numerous ways, Patton said while sharing greetings during the 75th birthday celebration of Narendra Modi at BJP Head office Kohima on September 17.

“Today, we are gather here to celebrate not just the 75th birthday of Narendra Modi but also the remarkable journey of progress and development that has touched every corner of our beloved nation, including our beautiful state of Nagaland,” he said.

Patton highlighted some of the achievements under his (Modi) leadership that have been transformative for Nagaland, particularly in areas that directly impact the lives of the people.

Patton said that Modi's vision for India is rooted in the idea of Seva- service to the nation and to its people and “this concept of service aligns closely with the values of Christianity which teaches us that service to mankind is the highest calling.”

Informing that the series of events will be held to align the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Patton said “The events, which will reflect our commitment to the values of service, selflessness and community, will take place for fortnight from September 17 under the umbrella of Sewa Pakhwada.”

Let us honour the vision and leadership of Modi, a leader who consistently shown his dedication to the service of the people for the upliftment of the marginalized and for the development of our great nation, Patton added.

He said that the Public Food distribution system, initiated under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership has significantly impacted Nagaland.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, the government has ensured  that  food security remains a priority for all, especially during tough times, he said.

With the introduction of ‘Modi Rice’ in the public food distribution system, the people of Nagaland are receiving fortified rice that meets their nutritional needs, Patton said adding “ This is a testament to the government's commitment to making sure that no one is left behind.

Stating that access to clean and safe drinking water is fundamental to human dignity and health, he said that Jal Jeevan Mission, another flagship program of the Modi’s government, has brought tap water to millions of households across the country, and Nagaland is no exception.

Under this mission, lakhs of households in Nagaland have gained access to clean water, he said.

This initiative has brought tremendous relief to families, especially women and children, who previously had to walk long distances to fetch water, he said.

Patton maintained that clean water at home facilitates better health, fewer waterborne diseases, and an overall improvement in the quality of life for the people.

Nagaland Higher Education & Tourism Minister, Temjen Imna Along, PHED & Cooperation Minister Jacob Zhimomi, Treasuries & Accounts, Art & Culture Advisor, K Konngam Konyak, Information Technology & Communication advisor Sethrongkyu H Sangtam and Fisheries & Aquatic Resources Advisor, A Pangjung Jamir also present at the celebration.

The programme was chaired by Vekho Nakro, General Secretary State ST Morcha while Wongtokiu, pastor Yimkhiung Baptist Church Kohima invoked God’s blessings. Vikuyole Tase, treasurer State ST Morcha presented a special number.
