Mokokchung, October 5 (MExN): The ST Morcha, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Mokokchung District distributed solar lamps to student beneficiaries with the theme, ‘Let’s Carry the Light Together.’
The initiative was part of BJP’s policy of reaching out to the grass root level, maintained a press release from the party district unit.
Speaking on the occasion, ST Morcha BJP Mokokchung President Oyimpong Longchar said that that the‘solar lamp’ might be a small gadget but it “comes with a promise to reach out to the grassroot level,” it said.
He further said that the solar lamp is a realisation of Prime Minister Nardenra Modi to give electrical power to every household in the nation, it added.
The distribution of the solar lamps, apart from the humanitarian services rendered by the ST Morcha, BJP Mokokchung, he claimed, is the beginning of the reach out programme under the theme of ‘Let’s Carry the Light Together,’ it added.
Longchar further appreciated the ST Morcha, Nagaland State President Wanphong Konyak for taking the great initiative for the welfare of the students.
