BJP wants Doshehe to step down

Dimapur, August 10 (MExN): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of Dimapur district has said that Nagaland’s Minister for Power Minister should step down on moral grounds  if  he cannot “manage the department”. Much have been written about the power situation, the load-shedding and the citizens’ misery but nothing has improved but worsened, the unit said in a press release received here today.

“BJP Dimapur district is wonder what the power minister is doing if he could (could not) manage the department than he should step down from the post of power minister on moral ground,” the note appended by Dimapur BJP president Nikhevi Yeputho stated.

The district BJP noted that a 100 MVA transformer was to be installed in place of 60MVA consisting of three 20 MVAs at the Nagarjan power station in Dimapur. The power situation was expected to improve “but it is something like a temporary arrangement because being a fastest developing city many factories/industries will grow and set up their business so, the power consumption will also be increased.”

Therefore, the note stated, the 100MVA transformer will not be able to meet the demand of the consumers. “So, why not install a 500MVA instead of 100MVA now for long term period?” the BJP queried.

In the unit president’s own words: “Much has written about the irregular power supply and load shedding and even people had practically expressed their anger by way of gheraoed the power house some few months back. Till date nothing has been improved rather it worsen, what the power department is doing, if illegal power tapping is the factor than the department should take stringent action to those who are illegally tapping the power but for the few percent of the power thieves general public should not be suffer.”

The Dimapur unit of the BJP also said that the part “is not encouraging the government policy of total communitisation of power sector if it is not implemented in practical.”
