BJYM Nagaland: Seva Pakhvada to begin with blood donation camp

The Bharatiya Janata YuvaMorcha (BJYM) Nagaland is set to organise a series of events under the Seva Pakhvada campaign to mark the 75th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi starting September 17. 

Addressing the media at the BJP office in Dimapur, BJP state General Secretary Manai Konyak announced that the 16-daycelebrationwill begin with a blood donation campon September 17, to be held across Dimapur, Kohima, and Mokokchung districts. An exhibition along with alive address by the Prime Minister will also take place concurrently on September 17 and 18.

A tree plantation drive will be carried out in all 14 districts of the state. On September 27 and 28, BJYM will host felicitation programmes to honour eminent personalities from Nagaland and to recognise persons with disabilities. The programme will also include the distribution of assistive equipment.

A statewide cleanliness campaign will be conducted across all 60 mandals on October 2. Additionally, a tribute will be paid to Mahatma Gandhi, promoting the use and purchase of Khadi products. A painting competition on the theme “Developed India” will also be held.

Speaking about the marathon scheduled for September 20, BJYM state President Khekato Awomi expressed appreciation for the enthusiastic participation of youth. The youngest registered participant so far is 13 years old, and the oldest is 65, he informed.

The marathon, themed “Run for Drug-Free Nagaland,” will be led by renowned footballer from Nagaland Laiwang Konyak, who will serve as the event ambassador. He was confident that the marathon would raise greater awareness about drug abuse, especially among the youth, while also promoting the spirit of the Fit India movement.

The race will begin at Dimapur Government College and end at DDSC Stadium, with water stations located at Dimapur Ao Baptist Church (Water Station 1), Hotel Grand Tizu (Water Station 2), and Universal Bakery (Water Station 3).

Online registration is currently open, and there is no age restriction for participants. Awomi called on the youth to register and actively participate in the marathon.

Attractive cash prizes, medals and certificates will be awarded. The first 75 finishers will receive cash prizes along with medals and certificates. The 1stprize winner will receive Rs 20,075, the 2nd prize Rs 13,075, and the 3rd prize Rs7,075. Participants finishing in positions 76 to 500 will receive medals and certificates.

BJYM also urged students to complete their details online, and assured that t-shirts and certificates will be distributed to all participants.
