'Bond of friendship more important than winning'

Chetheba | January 9 : Parliamentary secretary for social welfare & women development Chotisüh Sazo today asserted that the bond of friendship is more important than winning prizes in the tournament.
Speaking at the Thevonü Football Trophy here today between Southern Angami Sports Association (SASA) and Chokri Area Youth Sports Association (CAYSA) in the disciplines of football (men) and volleyball (women), Sazo was thankful to the CAYSA and SASA for reviving the aged long friendship between the two communities by organizing such tournament. Such platform, he said, was a real indication of the aged old friendship between the two since 1939. Later, Sazo gave away prizes to the winners.
Also speaking on the occasion MLA Vikho-o Yoshü, advisor Information Technology & Communication was also appreciative of the coming together of the two not only to win prizes but to enhance the weight of friendship among them. He also called upon both Chokri and Southern Angamis to work collectively in order to secure all round development. Earlier, Zedehol, president Southern Angami Public Organization, Vethikhoyi Khamo, president Chokri Area Public Organization including Chatuo Paphino, Dupra, Kevi Sale and Medo Angami spoke on the occasion.
The function was chaired by Avolie Kezo, secretary organizing committee while Er. Vizotuo Seletsu, president organizing committee delivered welcome address. Organizing committee games & sports secretary Müdovehü administered oath to the participating teams Meanwhile, SASA won the coveted title champion title in football while CAYSA bagged champion tile in women volleyball.
The next Thevonü Football Trophy is scheduled to be held in Southern Angami area. Several dignitaries including ex-MLA Nüzota Swüro, contractor Vilelie Khamo and Er. Toba Khatso, president SASA were present at the function.
