Prof Mar Pongener releasing the book ‘Pastoral Care and Counselling: Towards Cultural Fidelity among Naga Youth’ with the author Dr Boholi Z Sema.

Alichen, August 10 (MExN): A simple and solemn programme was organized to celebrate the 48th Foundation Day of the Clark Theological College (CTC) on August 10.
During the event, the CTC Principal, Rev Dr Mar Pongener encouraged the Clark community to walk extra mile for the well-being of the institution and for the glory of God. The Principal challenged, “If God has done wondrous things, what role you and I would like to play for the well-being of the College?” He concluded by inviting the Clark Community to pray more for CTC; give more to CTC.
Another important feature of the day was the launching of the book titled ‘Pastoral Care and Counselling: Towards Cultural Fidelity among Naga Youth,’ which was formally released by Rev Dr Mar Pongener. The book is authored by Dr Boholi Z Sema, currently teaching at CTC in the department of Christian Ministry (Pastoral Counselling) and is published by Christian World Imprints, Delhi.
Looking at the reality of contemporary Naga Youth and their everyday co-existence with ‘others’ in cities outside of Nagaland and its bearing on the lifestyle of the Naga youth, the book argues that the academic community need ‘new consciousness’ and for which the author identified and proposed few counselling theories and approaches that are critical in exploring and addressing concerns of fidelity of Naga culture and Naga Youth, a press release from the college stated.
The 48th Foundation Day programme was chaired by Dr Arenla Longkumer, scripture reading and prayer by the Chaplain of the College, Rev Dr A Tali Ao, special song by Dr Nungshi and family and the benediction was offered by Dr Renbi Rangthang.
