Titabar/Changpang, January 10 (MExN): The annual general meeting-cum-get-together of the Border Peace Coordination Committee (Assam–Nagaland) [BPCC (A–N)] was held on January 10 at the Gandhi M.E. School, Bhagyalakhi, in the Titabar–Changpang Circle, located along the Assam–Nagaland border.
Members from both states, including representatives from the Changpang and Titabar areas, as well as Mokokchung and Mariani, attended the meeting.
The programme began with a devotional chorus presented by students of Gandhi M.E. School, followed by an invocation by Rev Huni Gogoi, Executive Secretary of the Assam Valley Baptist Association.
During the meeting, members discussed the annual general report, reviewed the BPCC (A–N) constitution, and deliberated on incidents reported from border areas and the redressal mechanisms adopted over the past year.
The house also discussed and approved the initiation of a free medical camp in border areas next month to benefit residents of Assam and Nagaland. The medical camp is proposed to be sponsored by the Apollo Hospital Group and Chandraprabha Eye Hospital, Jorhat.
The meeting was chaired by BPCC (A-N) President Jiten Buragohain, while the keynote address was delivered by Er Temsu Wathi, the Committee Coordinator. The vote of thanks was proposed by Gonesh Saikia, executive member of the committee.
Prominent local leaders were also invited and participated in large numbers. The programme concluded with a community feast, according to a press release from BPCC (A–N).
