A Break-down of Nagaland Class 10 & 12 Results

The Nagaland Board of School Education declared the results of Class 10 and Class 12 exams on May 18. The exams held from March 9-29 had total of 36996 candidates. It took the board a period of 42 working days to prepare and declare the results.  

According to the NBSE, in High School Leaving Certificate Examination 2018, out of 21715 candidates, a total of 14335 candidates qualified the examination with a qualified percentage of 66.01%.  

As for the pass percentage, the girls had a slight edge over the boys with pass percentage of 65.98 and 66.04 respectively. A total of 7448 girls and 6887 boys qualified the HSLC exam.  

However, in the Top 20 list, the girls clearly outperformed the boys taking 25 slots against 12 for boys out of 37 candidates.  

There were big misses as well as hits. 63 schools secured 100% qualified/pass percentages which include 54 private and 9 government schools.  

However, 30 schools had zero/nil result - 24 government and 4 private schools.  

In terms of district wise performance for government schools, Kohima district again topped the table with a percentage of 51% followed by Peren district at 50%. Longleng district was at the bottom with 9%.  

In respect of private schools, Kohima and Phek districts were at the top with a percentage of 83% followed by Mokokchung at 82%.  

In Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate Examination 2018, the girls scored an emphatic win over the boys with total pass percentage of 79.87%. The pass percentage of boys was 70.44%.
