Nikali K. Shohe and others during Medical Camp to elderly in 3 village

Kohima, August 15 (MExN): Under the banner of “Beauty with a Purpose.” Nikali K Shohe, Miss Sumi 2024 and Miss Nagaland 1st Runner-Up 2024, organized a two-day medical camp for men and women above 50 years of age at Vekuho, Akuhaito & Yemishe on August 8 and 9.
The initiative was held in collaboration with the Beauty and Aesthetic Society of Nagaland, Aid Care Trust Support (ACTS) and the Sumi Totomi Hoho.
The programme, titled Bridge to Health, was conducted in three locations: Vekuho Village and Akuhaito Town on August 8, and Yemishe Village on August 9.
Each session began with a prayer, followed by an address from Nikali, who shared that her advocacy in pageantry has always been rooted in serving her community through healthcare awareness and support.
On August 8, the camp was led by Dr. Gihuka V. Chishi, Medical Officer of Atoizu, and his team, along with Dr. Hitoli K. Zhimo, optometrist. On August 9, the program continued under Dr. Tokaito N. Aye, Medical Officer of Kilomi, assisted again by Dr. Hitoli K. Zhimo.
The camp provided free medical services including eye check-ups, blood pressure monitoring, blood tests, sugar level testing, and consultations for various illnesses. More than 150 elderly individuals received care over the two days.
The programme was graced by the presence of Dr. Samuel Akho Konyak P, NCS, Extra Assistant Commissioner of Atoizu, who commended the organizers for their service to the community.
Nikali noted that this medical camp marked the first phase of the Bridge to Health initiative, and similar programs will soon be conducted in other villages to continue extending healthcare access to rural communities.
