Tourist from Poland found dead
Dimapur, December 2 (MExN): In an unfortunate incident, a tourist from Poland killed himself in an ‘accidental case’. The tourist named Sztineta Dariusz Ludwick, aged around 40 years was found dead at Tourist Village, Touphema early this morning. According to reliable sources, he was part of a 13 member team who had come on a package tour arranged by ‘Holiday Solution’, Guwahati. The exact nature of the ‘accidental’ death could not be ascertained till the filing of this report.
Reports: Myanmar’s Shan rebels sign ceasefire
Bangkok, December 2 (AP): Exile media outlets say the Shan ethnic rebel group has signed a low-level ceasefire with the government in Myanmar. The Irrawaddy website reported the Shan State Army-South signed an agreement today with Myanmar’s official Shan State government. The rebel group was one of the biggest not to previously sign a ceasefire with the government. The agreement comes as Myanmar’s army-backed but elected government is seeking international legitimacy through democratic reforms after years of military repression.
