UGT interview results out

Dimapur, December 7 (MExN):
The department of School Education has declared the results of “UGT” interview. A two-line note appended by Bendangkokba, principal director of the directorate, said candidates can have the results from the notice board at the directorate in Kohima.

Govt puts FDI decision on backburner

New Delhi, December 7 (PTI):
Bowing to intense pressure from within and outside, the government on Wednesday announced suspension of its decision to allow FDI in retail, bringing Parliament back to business after nine days of logjam. The breakthrough in the standoff came at an all-party meeting Wednesday morning where the government made the offer to put on hold the Cabinet decision to allow 51 per cent FDI in multi-brand retail and the Opposition agreed to it. Soon after, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee made an announcement in the Lok Sabha that the government has decided to put on hold the decision on FDI till all stakeholders were consulted. A similar statement was made in the Rajya Sabha by Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma. 

Banks to remain closed from Dec 24 to 28

Dimapur, December 7 (MExN):
The All India Bank Officer’s Confederation Nagaland State Unit has informed that all banks will be closed for public transaction from December 24 to 28. The notice had been issued consequent to the Government of Nagaland vide order No. GAB/GEN/21/2010 (PT) dated 03.12.2011 declared holiday w.e.f December 24 to 28, 2011 under the NI Act 1881. This was informed in a press note issued by All India Bank Officer’s Confederation Assistant General Secretary David Kire.
