Brillante! 2nd Nagaland Piano Festival has provided an ample opportunity to the local, national and international pianists to reason and perform together for three days from October 29 to 31 last on classics, jazz and other contemporary forms of piano music at RCEMPA, Jotsoma.
In grand finale of piano competition held on October 31, Chandni Kausika emerged the winner under Category A while Mhetshewe-u Lohe and Rokosituo Hozoyeh bagged first and runner-up respectively.
Shantanu Bhupendra Patel bagged first position under Category B while Anuvrat Choudhary and Ayide Koza were declared as first and runner up respectively.
Ayide Koza bagged the audience choice award.
Organized by Brillante event team in collaboration with TaFMA, NPTA, imagi.nation, Music Academy Kohima, Furtados and Nagaland Post as media partner, the festival witnessed series of workshop on classical piano master class, instruction to Jazz piano and improvisation, acoustic piano maintenance, hymn arrangement basics, focused interactions, demonstration and piano playing techniques and practice habits. Natalia Kapynova, Aman Mahajan and Sahu Peseyie conducted the same.
Chathavi Vupru, Ayim Longchar, Ronnie Odyuo and Kekhrie Ringa performed on the last day. The show also featured special appearance by KM Conservatory of Music (AR Rahman’s Institute), Chennai.
