British govt completely forgot Nagas: NNC

DIMAPUR, APRIL 29 (MExN): The Naga National Council (NNC) has made an appeal to all the Naga people in the Homeland to protest against the visit of Prince Andrew, who is visiting Kohima on behalf of the Queen of England. According to a press note from the Information & Publicity Wing of the NNC, the “British throne and her Government was and is the main factor in the first place for the plight of the Naga people for six long decades of struggle for the rightful freedom of the Nagas as a Nation”. The press note stated that the British Government was fully responsible for the long and arduous struggle for freedom of the Nagas since “they did not say even a word about the plight of the Nagas whom they know it very well about their historical and political rights they (British Government) betrayed”. “They are a coward Government indeed.

Where is the 1935 Act of ‘The Naga Hills Excluded Area’ which was passed by the House of Lords (Parliament)?” the press note from the NNC queried.

The NNC pointed out that the British Government had completely forgotten the Naga people who helped them (British) in the First World War and Second World War. “Let the people of the world and the people of United Kingdom know all these deeds once again”.
