Peren, Novem,ber 9 (MExN): The Bible Society of India (BSI), Jalukie Branch, conducted an annual meeting and a promotional seminar on November 7 at Baptist Church Gaili. Neitho Luho, president, chaired the annual meeting while Benthuile Haihing moderated the promotional seminar. Paramthonang Thiumai. treasurer, presented the audited financial statement for the FY 2024-2025.
Rev. Dr. Yiepetso Wezah, auxiliary secretary, presented a paper on ‘Bible for All.” He stated that out of 1,652 living languages in India, only 86 languages have full Bibles.
‘According to United Bible Societies, there are about 7,396 living languages in the world. Out of which, 3,730 languages are without any part of the Bible. It is now the responsibility of the individual believers and Churches to pray and give some amount for translation, production and distribution of God’s Word, stated a press release received here.
Marwati, assistant officer, presented a paper on ‘significant of Church leaders’ role and the branch. He emphasizes on spirituality of fund raising. Fund raising begins with prayer, listening to God’s guidance and participating in God’s mission. Stating that all Christians were engaged in fundraising in the mission of God in the BSI, he appreciated BSI Jalukie Branch for the generous contribution towards the ministry of the BSI.
