BTC Pfutsero celebrates cultural day 2025

Kohima, November 29 (MExN): The Baptist Theological College, T. Chikri, Pfutsero has celebrated its 36th Cultural Day under the theme “Our Culture–Our Pride” on November 28.

The event was graced by Mhalo Humtsoe, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Pfutsero as the guest speaker.

In her address, Humtsoe encouraged students to value, preserve, and promote their cultural heritage.

Stating that culture is our identity, she said “while we can embrace modernity, we must remain rooted in our heritage, preserve our mother tongue, honour our ancestors’ creativity, and weave cultural practices into our daily lives.

The celebration featured a rich array of cultural presentations reflecting the community’s diversity and traditions.

Students, faculty, staff, and guests enjoyed performances highlighting traditional attire, folk songs, dances, Naga wrestling, and tug-of-war competitions.

The event highlighted the unique customs of various tribes, fostering mutual respect, appreciation and cultural unity.

The event not only celebrated cultural expression but also reaffirmed the college’s commitment to nurturing identity, unity, and spiritual growth.
