WAPO honours meritorious students from Western Angami region

Kohima, May 10 (MExN): The Educational Trust of the Western Angami Public Organisation (WAPO) today organised a felicitation programme at Jotsoma Village Council Hall and honoured the meritorious students from Western Angami region in the HSLC and HSSLC Examinations 2026.

Gracing the programme as the special guest, WAPO president Theyievilie Suohumvü acknowledged that the achievements of the toppers have brought pride and honour not only to their families but also to the community and the entire Western Angami area.

He emphasized that celebrating the hard work and dedication of the toppers serves as an inspiration for the younger generation to pursue excellence in education and life.

Kuolachalie Seyie talked on “Let the values of our forefathers come back to life.”

He emphasized that although society is now living in an era of Robots and AI, the younger generation must remain rooted in traditional values, discipline, and responsibility.

Seyie stressed on need to build a stronger and more responsible society.

Nitsino Punyü- Rank 3 in HSSLC Arts (95.60%) from Mezhur Higher Secondary School, Kohima and Neithozono K. Kuotsu- Rank 15 in HSLC (95.50%) from Greenwood School, Dimapur were honoured during the felicitation programme.

The Educational Trust reiterated its important guidelines and objectives, which include felicitating toppers from Classes 10 and 12 under NBSE and encouraging bonafide members of the Western Angami region.

Since its establishment in 2015, the Trust continued to support and encourage academic excellence among students of the region.

The event brought together leaders, well-wishers, parents, and members of the community in celebrating the achievements of the students.
